Olive oil has so many properties that it is very hard to list all the benefits. It has been used for antibacterial purposes, and often used for earaches and eye infections. It is a great skin and hair moisturizer, and has been applied to skin conditions like excema, ringworm, etc. It's used as a preservative for canned foods like tuna and capers
It's good for hair conditions like alopecia and dandruff. I saw it first hand to lift up dead skin layers, and burns after consistent application.
Adding a little salt to olive oil to form a mild scrub also helps to take out scratches in wood furniture.
There is soooo much more. But definitely a keeper in my pantry. . . and medicine cabinet for that matter.
Here’s another list of health benefits from Extra Virgin Olive Oil .
It has no cholesterol. It helps to lower LDL (the bad) cholesterol, and increases HDL (or good) cholesterol. This helps to promote good heart health and reduces blood pr...essure.
It has high amounts of vitamins A, D, K and E. These vitamins are good for the hair, skin and healing.
It also aids in the fight against many types of cancers.
It is a strong anti-inflammatory.
It helps to reduce acid reflux
It also helps to control blood sugar levels.
Find a way to incorporate this oil into your daily diet. Some say 1 to 2 tablespoons a day is sufficient. Good quality Extra Virgin Olive oil has a fruity, nutty taste and some foodies take a few pieces of bread chunks and dip them into t...he oil as a little treat. Some have no problem just drinking it down plain. Others pour a little over their salads and vegetables as a garnish. Or they find ways to mask the flavor of the oil by adding it in their daily smoothie or juice.
