Vinegar - Use it Throughout Your Home for Natural Spring Cleaning

Once winter is over, you always want to begin cleaning out your home. However, you don't want to make yourself cough, itch, and feel miserable with chemical cleaners. The great news is that you can easily and inexpensively make many cleaners on your home. One of the best ingredients you can use for many cleaning chores is vinegar.

Vinegar is great for cleaning your home naturally. With vinegar you can effectively clean the tub, the counters, windows, appliances, and a whole lot more. Here are a few great recipes you can use for cleaning with vinegar (White vinegar is the best option to use for cleaning).

Odor Removal with Vinegar

Do you want to get odors out of fabrics in your home? If so, vinegar can do the trick. What you'll need is a bit of vinegar, a bread slice, and a nice cardboard box. It should be large enough to hold the object and the bowl of vinegar. Put the box in an area where it won't be tipped and then put the fabric in along with the vinegar in the bowl. Put the bread in the bowl. Close up the box and use tape to seal it. 24 hours later, open the box and allow them item to air out. The odor will be gone.

Washing Windows

You can use vinegar to make windows, mirrors, and other glass items look great. You'll need a cup of vinegar, three drops of some type of citrus essential oil, such as lemon or even grapefruit. Then you need three cups of water that is warm. Mix this together, and use it with a cloth that is lint free to clean the windows, mirrors, or any other glass.

Blast Away Soap Scum

Vinegar can help get rid of soap scum easily as well. To make a nice solution you'll need a cup of vinegar, a teaspoon of castile soap, 1/4 teaspoon of lavender essential oil, half a cup of warm water, and 1/2 teaspoon of grapefruit seed extract. Combine the ingredients together in a spray bottle. Shake them up, and then spray the area with soap scum. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and then wipe away and rinse.
